Chinchilla Melon Festival

Day 7-10

Arrived at the showgrounds set up the van and awning plus everything to do for s comfortable stay for the next 4 days while here at the festival. We set up our outdoor lights the everything was packed away because the wind was so severe. Help other campers with there awnings while they were out for dinner. We now have become acquaints. Went for a drive looking around Chinchilla. Wow it has grown since we were here along time ago. Went to the rodeo saw the bucking horses and bucking bulls. I did enjoy the ladies barrel races. Got a bus from the show grounds to the street which was better than walking. Saw different craft stall like they are at our festival. Then at 10.30 the festival was officially opened with the parade starting with the follow up of the sprint for cash. We then went to the school grounds to watch the melon activities but it was hard to see the games with the melons. With just s school oval and with thousands of people caused us not see to any of the games. We went back down when the sun had disappeared to watch the laser lights but as we went through the gate is finished. I was so disappointed. Went to McDonalds to get dinner to finish off our night. Our friends left on Sunday which they were heading to the Gold Coast. We left yesterday.
